Provided upgrades to electrical substations 2, 6, 9, 7A, 7B, 4, 5, and 8 located in the Industrial Complex at the MCLB Albany utlizing a phased approach to minimize power outages as facility had to remain operational during normal work shifts.
Windamir was the electrical contractor for providing upgrades and modifications to eight (8) high voltage electrical substations located at the Building 2200 Industrial Maintenance Complex at the MCLB Albany, GA. Project replaced existing high voltage substations and all feeder panels, provided underground duct banks, and used temporary generator power to avoid the loss of production in this highly volatile Industrial complex.
A phased construction approach was utilized to help minimize power outages as the facility was required to be operational throughout construction. This effort required coordinating outages with facility management to minimize the impact and performing most outages after hours, and during nights and weekends, to ensure normal shift work during which the greatest amount of maintenance activity takes place, was not impacted.
Construction Cost: $12 Million (Multiple Task Orders)
Self-performance: Windamir self-performed 95% of the construction work
