Design-build renovation of an existing 3-story 67,661 SF classroom training facility receiving a complete building (interior/exterior) renovation. Facility updated to meet current Unified Facility Criteria for AT/FP, ADA, and LEED Silver rating.

Project Description:

Windamir provided design-build rehabilitation and renovations to the Building 2300 classroom training facility to include seismic, Antiterrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP), and standing seam metal roof upgrades. Major work components to this 67,661 SF building includes floor plan changes to incorporate 28 AG (Adjutant General) classrooms, five finance classroom, two finance labs, new administrative offices, male and female toilet rooms for students and staff, elevator, mechanical, electrical and communications rooms, demolition and complete building finishes replacement, replacement of stair systems, window replacement and exterior building finish upgrades.

Construction Cost: $16,832,170

Self-performance: Windamir self-performed 40% of the construction work

Project Highlights:
  • Complete demolition of all non-structural walls, ceilings, systems and finishes.
  • Provided new building enclosure, and structural improvements for lateral resistance (Wind & Seismic)
  • Provided new building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire protection; and new interior finishes, new elevator, and a new standing seam metal roof.
  • Exterior improvements included new sanitary, domestic water, and fire service lines to building; as well as removal and replacement of concrete courtyard areas, piping trench covers, and sidewalks.
  • Facility was updated to meet current Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) for ATFP, ADA, and USGBC LEED Silver sustainability rating.
